| Eton unit starts new Sta. Rosa development |
by Doris Dumlao
Philippine Daily Inquirer | May 29, 2009 |
Tycoon Lucio Tan’s Eton Properties Philippines Inc. has allotted 20 hectares within the sprawling Eton City project in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, for a new middle-income sub-division project where 1,338 house and lot units will soon be put up for sale.
Eton Properties president Danilo Ignacio told reporters on the sidelines of the company’s stockholders meeting on Friday that the board had approved the first phase of the middle-income residential community development under Belton Communities Inc. unit.
“Our focus now is on low-rise developments. Until the economy fully recovers, we would rather be cautious in terms of investments,” he said.
The advantage of a low-rise development is that the developer could build only as much as the market could absorb, and thereby conserve its cash, he explained. |
“Demand for lower middle [market housing units] is strong. We think that’s a strong market and that’s why we emphasize on [the] Belton [brand],” Ignacio said.
“The newly—approved project-which is a 40-minute drive from Makati—will be launched within the third quarter, Ignacio said.
“The buyers have options to buy lots only. When they build, ultimately there will be 1,338 house and lots. They can build based on four house models using American architecture.” He added.
The project will offer lot cuts of 80 to 130 square meters priced at P800,000 to P1.3 million. House and lot units, on the other hand, shall be offered for P2.4 to P4.8 million.
The two-story houses will have gross floor areas of 50 to 110 square meters with two, three or four bedrooms. |
